It’s that time of year again when the locals are like, get me out of Phoenix. The temps are nearing 100 degrees and nothing sounds better than a getaway at the beach. Or if you’re like my friend, a getaway to somewhere much colder. Just last week, she jetted off on her dream vacation to Iceland. She’s always wanted to visit The Blue Lagoon, as well as seeing The Northern Lights in all their glory. All she needed was this iceland car rental 4×4, and off she went, navigating all of the rough terrains that the Land of Ice and Fire has to offer. I have to admit, I am quite jealous. But that won’t last long, as I’m off to the beach. Next stop, Monterey, California!
We will be taking you on our week long journey in Monterey and updating you daily. But first, we need to pack! The temperature is a chilly 65 degrees which means, jean shorts and cozy sweaters. Keep scrolling for what we will be wearing this week…
When we arrive, we will be checking into the Hyatt Regency Monterey Bay Hotel and Spa. Tucked away in beautiful Monterey, we have everything from the beach to golf and let’s not forget the spa ladies! The few days in Monterey will consist of wine tasting and whale watching. We are so excited to share with you our favorite foor and wine spots so stay tuned!

We have arrived in Monterey! The weather is perfect however we are seeing some gloomy skies. For the day, we are headed to the Fisherman’s Wharf for whale watching, food and shopping! Whale watching has literally been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. My mom used to take me every weekend to dana point whale watching when we lived in California so I am so excited!
We had lunch and drinks at the Old Fisherman’s Grotto which was delicious. I’m a sucker for salmon so of course I had the grilled salmon sandwich. I highly recommend this restaurant because the views are beautiful!
A view from where we were standing earlier…I could literally watch sailboats all day and dream to own one of my own someday!
Update: Today is our last day here in Monterey! I couldn’t help myself and headed back to the Fisherman’s Wharf for drinks and brunch. Monterey is such a romantic place and I cannot wait to come back with the boyfriend! Thanks to See Monterey for making our trip special and for literally being the best tour guide!
